Fostering Smiles is an initiative of Karson’s Kompassion Project (KKP). KKP was founded to continue the legacy of Karson Whitesell, whose life was taken in a random act of violence.
The mission statement of KKP is To bring a smile to the under-served both locally and globally by identifying and filling in gaps with resources, programs or services in the areas of education, shelter, food, and discipleship.
Fostering Smiles looks to fill those gaps locally in the foster community. Over 1,000 children in our region enter foster care each year. We look to partner with the foster family and provide support in various ways, including providing welcome kits for the children as they enter care.
